The Tharparkar District in Pakistan, Sindh Province is where the Tharparkar cattle breed first appeared. Moreover, the breed has a name derived from the Sindh district where it was first discovered. Tharparkar Cow is extremely resilient and well adapted to the harsh environmental conditions and limited food supply of their home tract.
